What information do I need to provide to request copyright permission for items not in the library?

You will need to know the following: Are you the rights holder of this material or do you need the site's assistance? If you have a prearranged agreement with the rights holder that does not require our assistance (for example, a school wide arrangement with a journal provider) you may tell us that as well.

  • If you are the rights holder you will need to provide us with the Publication Title, the name of the Author/Editor, the Publication Date, the Payee Name (if you would like to collect royalties), your Address, and the Per Copy Fee (again, if you would like to collect royalties).
  • If you are not the rights holder you will need to know either the Publication Name, its ISBN/ISSN, and/or its Publisher.
  • If special payment has been arranged, you will need to let us know the Publication Title, the Author/Editor, the Publication Date, the ISBN/ISSN Number, the Publisher, the Contact Person you have worked with, the Payment Address, and the Per Copy Fee you have agreed to.

Here is an example of what you'll need to fill out in XanEdu:
